Expectation by Gerada Art

Society looking for heroes

We will always be grateful to the incredible artist Jorge Rodríguez Gerada for asking us to help him with this work as colossal in dimension as it is in concept and message. 650 tons of sand and gravel to compose a portrait of one square hectare of Barack Obama when he was a candidate for the White House for the first time, an almost impossible operation carried out in just one weekend and with the collaboration of volunteers, without forgetting the heaviest torrential rains seen in three years.

Not everyone understood the throughs that the artist wanted to convey, but it is as simple as it is powerful, the whole world was building a great icon of the great hero it needed, but the wind itself would end up erasing it without leaving any trace... Expectation, the great ephemeral work.
