The Sands of the Architect
Great memories of a great architect and human being
Enric Miralles represents one of the great icons of European architecture of the last century, although unfortunately he left this world in the year 2000, his legacy remains very much alive, intense and avant-garde. To a great extent, this is due to his partner and wife, Benedtta Tagliabue, who has not only made his language persist, but has made it grow and prosper in all architectural and, above all, human terms. It was in 2010 when Benedetta decided that something had to be done to commemorate her late husband, beyond her architecture, something dedicated to her friendships, her humanity and her most spiritual spectrum. . Apparently Miralles was a guy who liked to celebrate the beautiful things in life, a guy who didn't care where the people with whom he shared a spontaneous moment came from. For this reason, Benedetta, attending to her most sensory memory, decided to carry out a public act, an act open to the city, in her memory. For this, she requested the support of Jorge Rodríguez Gerada, the great muralist / humanist of our times, and also a good friend of her. Needless to say, with such sensitivities and talents, the experience was unique and memorable.
This video is the resume of this action but much more important is the legacy of this incredible human being, much more than a brilliant architect.
